“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Revelation 1:3). Our Lord promised a special blessing to those who read and heed the book of Revelation. I have been studying Bible prophecy lately and my heart truly has been blessed as I am reminded of our Blessed Hope, which is the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ! (Titus 2:13).
The blessing in studying is not in figuring out exactly how current events prove Christ is coming soon, what date He is coming, or who the anti-christ might be. The blessing is in the revealing of Jesus Christ! Prophecy reveals the person, the plan, and the perspective of Jesus Christ concerning life and this old world. Bible prophecy is a great motivator for revival—he who has this hope in him purifieth himself! (I John 3:3) Bible prophecy is a great motivator for the study of the Word! The more we see how much prophecy has already been fulfilled, the more our faith is strengthened to anticipate the remaining prophecies to come to pass. Bible prophecy is a great motivator for soul winning and missions!
As we see the day of the Lord approaching we must be prepared to give an answer to every man for the reason of the hope that lies within us! (I Peter 3:15) Let’s labor while it is day—certainly our Lord comes quickly! “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)
