Penny Sue Latham was born on October 23, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. She was saved at the age of 13 while talking to her Sunday school teacher. After hearing a message on missions, she gave her life to the Lord to be a missionary. Penny went to Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and met Tom at a camp during those years. They married on June 8, 1968. Tom and Penny never wavered in their desire to become missionaries. God blessed them with three children, Captain Thomas, Shane, and Kosy.
Penny faithfully served in Brazil alongside her husband for 50 years. In March, BWM sent the Lathams a plaque and video honoring their service in Brazil. Penny was able to see both of those, then God called her home to heaven after a long battle with cancer on May 1, 2023.
