The Shore family began Free Baptist Church in Loanhead, Scotland, in July 2010. Loanhead is a coal mining village located on the south side of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Their church meetings include four church services, a weekly men’s prayer meeting and monthly ladies’ meetings. Additionally, they host an annual Holiday Bible Club, Pastors’ Fellowship, evangelistic meetings and participate in the Loanhead Gala Day (Children’s Fair). Their church page is www.freebaptistchurch.org and our missions page is www.missionaryshore.com.
Scotland has a population of just over five million people. Much of the population is located in five cities: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness and Aberdeen. Edinburgh is home to over half a million people. Scotland has produced many famous Christians. For example, men like David Livingstone, Eric Liddel, Duncan Campbell, Robert Murray M’Cheynne, and Andrew Bonar. Sadly, most people are unaware of the rich religious history. Scotland is very humanistic, atheistic, evolutional and decidedly not Christian. This has been a land of revival. It is in desperate need of a fresh touch from God.
