Joel and Jodi Sandahl are working in the Freie Baptisten Gemeinde-the Independent Baptist Church of Dresden, Germany. The first service was Easter Sunday 1996. Lothar Doerstling and Jeff Tuttle began the work, and the Sandahls joined the ministry in February 1998.

In October 1998 the Doerstlings returned to the United States for their retirement. In February 2002, the church moved to the present location. And in December 2002, the Tuttles returned to Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where Jeff woroks as Dean of Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. The Sandahls continued the ministry founding this group of believers. The Freie Baptisten Gemeinde officially formulated its membership in August 2014 with fifteen members. In November, the church was officially incorporated. There are presently two memebers who are sharing the preaching responsibilities. The ministry of FBG has grown to the point that the present facilities are, at times, very full. Praise the LORD for the progress in the leadership and growth of the church.
