We are grateful to God to allow us to serve in Ireland since January of 1995. After a short time working with other missionaries, we moved to Naas (rhymes with place), County Kildare, in 1998 to start the Naas Baptist Fellowship. We have seen several people make professions of faith. We have weekly services, teen ministry, children’s ministry, and various outreach programs. Once a year, we distribute a gospel newsletter to every home in town. In October 2011, we organized into a local church. Our work can seem slow and challenging at times, but God continues to do great things in our midst.
Ireland has changed drastically over the past twenty years. When we arrived, Ireland was a very Catholic country. Today, some vestiges remain, but the country is now marked by materialism and worldliness and seems to relish being seen as progressive. Immorality is rife, and the nation seems to exalt and celebrate that. Naas is one of the fastest-growing towns in Ireland. It has a population of about 20,000.
