My goal as a missionary church planter is to bring the gospel to lost people beginning in the Bicol region of the Philippines. I will partner with local pastors and veteran missionaries to plant self-supporting, self-governing, self-propagating churches in areas without a gospel preaching baptist church. Our goal as church planters will be not only to start churches but to leave those churches in the hands of well-equipped national pastors.
The Republic of the Philippines, named for Philip II of Spain, was a Spanish colony for more than 300 years and, as a result, is predominantly Catholic. It is a country made up of more than 7,000 islands, 120 languages, and multiple ethnic groups. The Republic of the Philippines is located south of Taiwan, and north of Indonesia and is strategically positioned for future gospel endeavors in Southeast Asia. Bicol is a region of the Philippines located on the southern end of Luzon (the largest of the Philippine Islands) and is very close to the center of the nation which makes it an ideal launching point for gospel outreach.
