We have been in the city of Hunedoara for the last 6 of our 23 years in Romania. We have seen the Lord’s hand on our work. We have seen people saved, baptized, added to the church and growing in the Lord.
Our ministry team is permanently establishing itself in this needy city and county. Both the Sehested family and the Dudaș family have been able to purchase places to live, escaping the monthly drain of renting. Pastor Mihai and Maria are still renting but they hope to one day purchase a small apartment. It is our desire, and we believe ministry need, to get our church out of rented facilities as well. Therefore we are asking churches and believers to please consider helping us with this project.
The building that we are asking the Lord for is listed at 150,000 euros (currently about $160,500). This is a bit over our initial project goal but is about right for the location and the good condition of the facilities. The building was constructed so that at least one more story could be added. Also, there is land just to the left of the building that is owned by the city. If the Lord would abundantly bless, it would be great to purchase that lot, not only as a temporary buffer from an undesirable business next door, but primarily as a place for future expansion. The photos will give you a good view of the facilities.
In addition to the funds already raised as indicated on this page, our church in Hunedoara has raised just over $3,000 to date. Every month our people are giving sacrificial in their tithes, to Faith Promise missions and to our building fund.
The future of Hunedoara is looking quite good. Two major companies currently have major building projects underway. One is a nationwide hardware store warehouse that will provide 150 new jobs and the other is a German wiring harness firm that will provide 600-700 new jobs in the city. An industrial park is being developed with the goal of attracting even more factories and employment opportunities.
I know that there are many needs in the Lord’s work. But I also know that if God’s people will follow His leading, all those needs will be met.
As the Lord has led and opened doors, we have established ourselves here in Hunedoara, to finish our days serving the people of Romania. By God’s grace, we still have many good years ahead of us. To conduct this work from our own facilities is something that seems most appropriate. Please consider and pray about helping us with this project in Hunedoara, Romania.
